Created In HIM (Part 2): Married to THE WORD

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. (John 1.1-3, KJV)

1. The WORD is referred to as HIM in verse 2 and verse 3. Therefore, we can conclude that the WORD is a PERSON...not a thing.

2. Things, in fact, all things, can be made by the PERSON named THE WORD, but no person can be made by a thing.

So, we must willingly take hold of and live in the reality that the PERSON named THE WORD created all things, including us. How can we know this?

Well, we know it because the BIBLE tells us so (you can sing this if you like). Refer to John 1.3 which says,
All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. Remember, the things being made include us.

Before I move on into a more in-depth discussion of us being the BRIDE of CHRIST, we have to know who the BRIDEGROOM is. Please bear with me because I know that many times we will take for granted that because we are saved or because we attend church we are familiar with who GOD is and more specifically, WHO JESUS CHRIST is. But, I take no_thing for granted. Even if we already know, when GOD brings revelation by HIS HOLY SPIRIT, it never hurts to review lest we find ourselves thinking we know more than we really do.

So, then, to find out WHO the BRIDEGROOM is, we have to play a game of BIBLE connect-the-dots to make sure that we take in all of the holy hints that GOD has left for us in Scripture.

And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. (John 1.14, KJV)

Clue #1: The WORD was made flesh - the spiritual person named THE WORD became a human person.

Clue #2: The WORD in HIS human form was full of grace and truth.

For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ. (John 1.17, KJV)

Clue #3: JESUS CHRIST was full of grace and truth, and therefore, is the manifestation of THE WORD in human form, as testified to by the prophet John and, by each and every person who has come to know HIM.

The Spiritual Person named THE WORD was given the NAME of JESUS CHRIST when HE became a human being. This NAME (above all names) was given to THE WORD by HIS FATHER, GOD ALMIGHTY, before HE was born (into the earth).

Continuing with the question WHO, then, is the BRIDEGROOM?

Wherefore, my brethren, ye also are become dead to the law by the body of Christ; that ye should be married to another, even to him who is raised from the dead, that we should bring forth fruit unto God. (Romans 7.4, KJV)

Clue #4: According to, Paul, in the passage above we are married to "him who is raised from the dead."

Clue #5: Peter then goes on to say, Remember that Jesus Christ of the seed of David was raised from the dead according to my gospel... (2 Timothy 2.8)

[NOTE: You can also find references to JESUS CHRIST being raised from the dead in Acts 3.15, Acts 4.10, Romans 6.9, and1 Thessalonians 1.10. If you search resurrected or resurrection, you would find additional references.]

Clue Recap

Clue #1: The WORD was made flesh - the spiritual person named THE WORD became a human person.
Clue #2: The WORD in HIS human form was full of grace and truth.
Clue #3: JESUS CHRIST was full of grace and truth, and therefore, is the manifestation of THE WORD in human form, as testified to by the prophet John, and each and every person who has come to know HIM.
Clue #4: According to, Paul, in the passage above we are married to "him who is raised from the dead."
Clue #5: Peter then goes on to say, Remember that Jesus Christ of the seed of David was raised from the dead according to my gospel... (2 Timothy 2.8)

Therefore,
JESUS CHRIST is the BRIDEGROOM for WHOM
we are being prepared, and,
for WHOM we should be preparing ourselves.

~~~
In other words, we are married to THE WORD.
In my next post, I will continue to examine this concept of being married to THE WORD, by making a case for the fact that GOD does not put anything back into something it did not originate from.
For example: We are put back into GOD through CHRIST (when we believe in HIS NAME) because we were created by GOD, through CHRIST. This parallels GOD'S ideal of marriage which is that man should only take the wo-man/wife that was created from, or taken out of, him. But that's a whole 'nother post, a whole 'nother day. LOL. I am having a blast writing this and I hope you are having one reading it! GOD is GREAT!
